  7. PrePARE on UNIX platform is a software product that processes graphic files
  8. from CAD and image systems, paper and micrographic scanners and other graphical
  9. applications into formats for use with PreVIEW, a superior solution for the
  10. display, annotation, and plot of engineering drawings, maps, and site plans.
  11. CAD industry standard neutral file formats such as IGES, AutoCAD DXF, CalComp,
  12. and HP-GL, as well as image formats such as TIFF, WIFF, MIL-R-28002, and CCITT
  13. Group 3 and 4 can be imported through PrePARE. PrePARE preserves the
  14. intelligence in CAD databases. It supports MIL-D-28000 (IGES) and MIL-R-28002
  15. (Raster), essential features for compliance with the emerging US DoD CALS
  16. standards. Once these files have been processed, they can be viewed on any
  17. supported PreVIEW

  19. PrePARE FEATURES
  20.  
  21. IGES processing PrePARE has been developed to fully support the IGES standard.
  22. All IGES entities, excluding FEM (Finite Element Model), macros and solid
  23. entity types, are supported by PrePARE making it fully CALS Class I and Class
  24. II compliant. The original IGES entities and construction layers are preserved
  25. through the PrePARE process, enabling selective viewing of CAD data with
  26. PreVIEW. PrePARE also enables surfaces to be rendered with a user specified
  27. mesh, enhancing the graphic representation of CAD models
  28.  
  29. DXF processing PrePARE includes support for conversion from DXF to PreVIEW
  30. readable files. Additionally, PrePARE converts PreVIEW annotation overlay
  31. (.ovl) files into DXF to allow markups to be imported into the originating CAD
  32. system

  34. Plotter files PrePARE can process CALCOMP 925/960 or HP-GL plotter file
  35. formats

  37. Image input options. Raster input may be sourced from a paper scanner (up to
  38. E-size), micrographics scanner, or from any imaging system such as VS WIIS or
  39. Open/image Windows which supports one of the following raster data formats;
  40. WIFF, TIFF, MIL-R-28002, CCITT Group 3, CCITT Group 4, IMPELL RLC, CAD
  41. OVERLAY/ESP RLC, ACCESS uncompressed raw raster

  43. Batch processing Process multiple files in a batch mode. You can set up a
  44. command script to process large numbers of files without tedious or error-prone
  45. human intervention.
